Snake-like sabbatical ends in time to jump on the Fire Horse
I’m squinting against the bright light hitting my retinas. Brows furrowed bracing against the solar stream, I turn my face back towards the darkness I emerged from. A question forming within my mental strata, an impulse to burrow back into the bear-dream. Do I go back in there? Can I? There’s a tug behind my ribs, pulling me forward into the day.
The earth trembles. Suddenly I’m on unstable footing, rolling out of the way just in time to avoid a massive boulder that crashes down, effectively blocking the cave’s entrance.
The cthonic gods will be-it done. Out into the day, back out into the rising-yang-solar flow. Imbolc approaches February 3rd, 12:03pm PST, immediately following the full moon on Feb 1st. This is the 6-week point from the Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere. The moment when the holy Dark Times are officially over.
Hear ye, calling all from the star-fold of night.
Return into your bodies, feel through your finger and toes into this cycle-renewed. Purified in the bowels of the Dark Mother, only that of the purest substance has slipped through the membrane that divides the Now and the Future, from what was. From who we have been.
This substance is the nourishment, the matter refined from which we build the bridges across the unknown into what has never been.
A few notes:
Collectively we have moved from a 9-cycle year (2025) into a 1-cycle (2026)
February 17th we have a new moon solar eclipse that ushers us into the year of the Fire Horse, out of the year of the Wood Snake. (This upcoming eclipse marks our sideslip shift into the Aquarius-Leo axis, while we will still be overlapping with the Virgo-Pisces axis through the beginning of 2027.) As we just had a new moon on January 18th, our current lunar month is the final shedding before we enter into a new elemental configuration. Let’s do the energetic math: 1-cycle (new beginnings) + fire + horse = GET ER DONE.
