The human body is a natural masterpiece, woven from the same lightcodes as that of the small black ant and the great twisted oak. We share so many genes in common with that of the common housefly, the reductionist intellect is baffled by the similarities. The genes that code for the protein keratin in our hair and nails, also have the capacity to code for hooves, beaks, horns, and antlers.
As Stephen Buhner once wrote: we are just a specific instance of a general condition.
A beautiful, exquisite, general condition.
Do you know how similar the molecules hemoglobin and chlorophyll are? The primary difference between the two is the central metal ion they form around. In hemoglobin it is iron, in chlorophyll, magnesium.
There is a natural intelligence guiding the expression of the life that is living itself.
We are inseparable from this original genius.
Some people lament that ancient knowledge is lost. I disagree. What can truly be lost in the great sea of consciousness? Its nature is constantly expressing itself as the form of the living world. This nature is a unified field of radiance condensing all around us, within us, as us. Appearing as our body. As the other. As the tufted tit-mouse chittering its song in the piñon. As the hum of the car engine. As the blood spiraling. As the breath. As the spirit soaring beyond time and place. As the utter well-being underlying every one of the ten-thousand-fold universes: that we can hold in our hand, balance on the tip of a needle, count as stars in the sky.
And anyway, ancient knowledge only serves us insofar as it is the jumping off point for the knowledge, the Knowing, of our now.
Every great spiritual tradition, every great framework of conscious expansion - every technique, every tool, every invention, every insight and epiphany - in one way, shape, or form has come to us through the heart of Nature. Through the gateway of electron, atom, molecule.
We look out into the wild world and call it “nature.” And we speak of the nature of things. Why separate the two? If there is a nature of reality, it is all-encompassing. It is a nature that can be found in any place and any time. Any dimension. Any direction. Beyond culture, beyond society. The wellspring of every variation.
Could it be that we have the actual capacity to gaze upon our true selves, this wild nature? To find the literal expression of our unending essence in the fractal branching drinkers of sunlight, in the blue feathered wing, in the spiral shell, in the ever-renewing earth. Can it be a mirror? Can it be both metaphor, myth, symbol, and exactly what it is? Black fertile soil, eagle soaring, seed unfurling, wild waters rushing free, light dancing, wolf howling.
We embody dimensions blending. Such sweet satisfaction is found in the merging, living life from this confluence. Spirit and matter are one and the same. Why separate that which is united from the very beginning?
Each of us has access to Knowing. The human is holy, as is all form. Holograms of the One Self, doorways into the mind of infinity.
This is not esoteric knowledge. This is the foundation from which we collectively create a new earth, drawn from the remembering held in our bones. Let’s see what happens as we recognize ourselves in the vast tapestry of soil, stone, leaf, vine, and sky.
The time of our assumed smallness is over. None of us are here to live anything less than a life that feels exhilarating. Can we comprehend that? Can we find new thoughts? Can we expand our beliefs and perceptions of humanity to realize who we really are? Can we relax back into our natural condition? Can we allow our inherent brilliance to shine? Can we love each other? Can we love ourselves so much
that we shake off the conceptions
restricting our ability
to fly
What a gift to encounter this wise and powerful expression of our part in the whole of things. Thank you so much for writing it, I agree with all my body-heart-spirit. 🙏🏼
Beautiful. 🤍
