꩜ Audio Track ~ Ascent: Theta
I’ve been writing a longer personal essay that I’ll be sending out in the next week or so, and in the meantime I want to share a binaural audio track I’ve been composing. It’s a new, compelling musical exploration for me.
I used kinesiology to test for the most beneficial frequency for this piece, and ended up with 6 Hz for the range of theta that is just beyond alpha. (I’ve heard this range referred to as threshold consciousness - think of that cusp where relaxed focus turns into hypnogogic awareness, that place where we slip from wakefulness into states of sleep and dream.) Personally I like to listen to this piece for creative work, but I could see it being fun for inner-space exploration. I’d love to hear what you feel/think.
For those of you who are not familiar with frequency music or brain wave states, here is a simplistic explanation: Brain wave frequencies correspond with states of consciousness, from deep sleep to ecstatic states of bliss and unity awareness. During our day-to-day we are most often within beta (discursive thinking) or alpha (relaxed focus), with theta and delta usually being relegated to states of dream and sleep—unless we meditate, take neuro-gnostics, or work with trance-inducing technologies (like drumming). The measurement for brain waves is in Hz or cycles per second. Below are the generally accepted ranges for the 4 primary recognized states:
Delta (deep sleep, typically unconscious): 0.5-4 Hz
Theta (early stages of sleep, dream, trance, meditative absorption, revelation, psychedelic experience): 4-7 Hz
Alpha (relaxed focus, creative thinking): 7-12 Hz
Beta (thinking, problem solving, stress): 12-40 Hz
Gamma (conscious awareness, bliss, ecstasy): 40-70 Hz

There are two versions of Ascent: Theta below
Ascent: Theta (binaural) Theta frequency, binaural audio file, which requires wired headphones in order to get the full experience. This will not work with bluetooth headphones. If you listen to it with bluetooth or on computer speakers, it will sound like it’s in a tin can
Ascent: Theta (universal) for computer speakers and bluetooth headphones, theta frequency entrainment, no binaural frequency effect
*Regardless of how you listen, I strongly suggest headphones*
**Please be conscious about how/when/where you listen to this piece (I am not an expert on the effects of frequency music, but some say you shouldn’t drive while listening.) As well, please take caution if you have a history of epilepsy or other brain conditions which cause sensitivity to external frequency**
If you would like to listen to the Bare version of Ascent (no binaurals or frequency entrainment), please reach out to me.
1) Ascent: Theta (Binaural) - for wired headphones ONLY
2) Ascent: Theta (Universal) - compatible with bluetooth headphones
♡ Paid Subscribers: Substack now allows me to offer audio downloads directly, so I will be posting Ascent: Theta for download under the Audio Files section of True Nature.

Ok but how did you add sound track in the article?? Thats wizardry!!
