Truly too many lines to highlight—gem after gem. Particular fan of all the heron-ness, of course. You paint its essence so vividly, the same traits and sensations that draw me to it too.

J’adore toi et tes mots!

I love that you feel Heron reverberating through the piece. In all honesty I didn’t know this would be such a heron feature - that’s the pleasure of writing right? The journey we take in the birthing

This is a conversation to be continued… Coming back from four days at a lake that is still in the biological state that it was in over 100 years ago makes one aware of the significance of abiding with and in Nature. To be in a place where the night is so quiet that your ears reverberate with the silence. Night prayers. The call of the loon breaking the dawn. Blue Heron. Abiding. Waiting. Watching. I love your point to be receptive is to be present and vice versa💕

To allow yourself to be seen and treasured by the Heron--so beautiful, Emma. I think of Francoise Gilot: "I don't paint what I look at; I paint what looks at me." I love the way you painted this encounter with the Heron.

Very perceptive and gracefully shared from your beautiful observation viewpoint, sometimes capturing these moments are lost in translation. Imagery is ever present in genuflection, which creates the cerebral Imagery of this moment or flicker of time snapshots, fleshed out to imbibe the mind drinking in what we cannot comprehend, apart from being present and suggestions offered others interpret your personal visual delights, descriptive and of the moment, until the next connection that drives your soul enables you to realise it's always there anywhere, somewhere for anyone everyone, your brushstrokes of witness can only be positive to those without your momentary capture of life in manifold frames, of which is a planetary and attractive acknowledged memory installation of which will be beneficial to all that you beheld and to all that individual people's can extract such beauty

I like your point on presence Emma:

"Presence

Is the ultimate state of receptivity"

Having that presence in the present moment helps me grounded in the now. It's something I work on moment to moment, day to day...a continuous process of sorts.

Expand full comment

Totally Neil, it is such a continuous process. I am amazed at how simple presence can be, and yet how it can be obscured by the same/similar manner of focus through which we find it.
